Every once and awhile, Boyfriend’s job comes with some serious perks. He brings home salami samples or wine the restaurant can’t sell. Or tickets to a beer release preview party. Last week, Summit unveiled their new beer, HopVale Organic and threw a party to celebrate. Free beer and snacks and a sneak peak at their new canning facility? Count me in.
HopVale is similar to Summit’s Extra Pale Ale, a favorite of mine. But as the name suggests, it’s hoppier. When I first tasted it, the light grapefruit flavor transported me to a sunny, summer patio. And believe me, since Summit sent us home with a four-pack of HopVale each, we’ll be doing some patio drinking soon.
HopVale is a session beer, which means lower ABV (alcohol by volume), the kind of beer you can sit and drink all night without getting wasted. It’s USDA Certified Organic, which is awesome if you’re into that sort of thing. And it tastes great, which is all that really matters, right?
